We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Field Service Technician with advanced capabilities in hydraulic and electrical diagnostics. This role supports commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of deep‑foundation and heavy equipment, including piling rigs, drilling rigs, and hydraulic power systems. The ideal candidate combines hands‑on expertise with a strong theoretical understanding of hydraulic principles, electrical circuits, CAN systems, and system‑level diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Diagnostics & Repair
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, manifolds, cylinders, proportional controls, and closed/open loop circuits.
- Perform advanced electrical diagnostics on 24V systems, CAN‑bus networks, PLC‑based controls, sensors, relays, wiring harnesses, and machine control systems.
- Read, interpret, and apply hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, and OEM technical documentation.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis on component and system failures and implement corrective actions.
- Perform equipment commissioning, tuning, calibration, and functional testing.
Field Service & Customer Support
- Travel to customer sites for on‑site service, maintenance, and technical support.
- Conduct machine inspections, preventive maintenance, and performance evaluations.
- Support customers during machine startup, operator training, and optimization.
- Provide clear and professional communication regarding findings, recommended actions, and repair status.
Documentation & Reporting
- Complete accurate service reports detailing diagnostics, repairs, parts usage, and follow‑up requirements.
- Maintain records of field issues, warranty‑related repairs, and machine failures.
- Communicate recurring or critical issues to engineering and product support teams.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow company, customer, and regulatory safety protocols at all times.
- Ensure all work meets OEM and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years hands‑on experience servicing heavy equipment (piling rigs, drilling rigs, cranes, hydraulic hammers, etc.).
- Expert proficiency in hydraulic diagnostics including high‑pressure systems.
- Expert proficiency in electrical diagnostics, especially CAN‑bus and PLC‑based systems.
- Exceptional ability to interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude across engines, winches, transmissions, undercarriages, etc.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical school or formal training in hydraulics/electrical systems (preferred, not required).
- Prior experience with equipment such as Liebherr, Bauer, MAIT, PVE, CZM, or similar.
- Experience with telematics systems or remote diagnostics.
- CDL or ability to obtain one.
- OSHA or site‑specific training.
