We are seeking an experienced Plant Fitter / Engineer to join the Junttan UK team. This hands-on field service role focuses on the diagnostics, repair, maintenance, rebuild, and commissioning of heavy mobile machinery, including piling rigs, hydraulic hammers, drilling rigs, and mobile hydraulic power packs.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of heavy plant experience and a strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical background, with the ability to diagnose faults and work independently in field and construction-site environments.

Essential

• Mechanical engineering qualification, ideally NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent
• 5+ years’ experience as a Heavy Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic, Mechanical Fitter, or Field Service Engineer
• Strong experience working with hydraulic mobile plant
• Ability to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults, including CANbus systems
• Strong understanding of:
  • Hydraulic pumps and motors
  • Hydraulic cylinders
  • Valves and hydraulic circuits
  • Hydraulic hoses and pipework
  • Winches
  • Slew and rotation systems
  • Undercarriage and track systems
  • Diesel engines
• Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics and engineering drawings
• Experience using diagnostic equipment and carrying out fault finding
• Ability to dismantle, repair, rebuild, and commission heavy machinery
• Strong understanding of mechanical tolerances, bearings, seals, fasteners, and torque requirements
• Good knowledge of PUWER, LOLER, risk assessments, and safe working practices
• Full UK driving license
• Willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland and stay away when required

Mechanical / Plant Fitter Profile

• 5+ years of heavy plant experience
• Strong hydraulic and electrical background
• Diesel engine experience, ideally Cummins and/or Volvo
• Hydraulic fault-finding experience
• Electrical fault-finding, including CANbus
• Mechanical strip-down and rebuild experience
• Field service experience
• Construction/site experience
• Strong health and safety attitude
• Comfortable working independently and traveling throughout the UK
