Hylkema Funderingstechniek Introduces the New Junttan Multipurpose Piling Rig MPx90 on a Dutch Job Site

Hylkema Funderingstechniek B.V., located in Holland, has got a new extension to their fleet  – a new Junttan multipurpose piling rig MPx90 – the biggest Junttan equipment at the moment will increase significantly Hylkema’s capabilities towards heavier piling. With new MPX90, equipped for both full displacement piling as well as CFA, Hylkema is able to reach pile lengths up to 40 meters with Kelly extension. MPX90 uses a state of the art JD45 rotary head which enables large pile diameters and together with 60 t pull-down force and 100 t extraction force good penetration even in hard soil conditions. For easier soil conditions the rotary offers high rotarion speeds – up to 70 rpm – and high speed feed with excellent winch control for maximum productivity.

The first project for the new MPx was a relatively small residence project of 34 apartments in Groningen, northern Holland, where the Junttan was transported 9th of April. In this project Hylkema used CFA piling method with 600 mm diameter, pile lengths being 20 meters.  A total number of 70 piles was installed. Even though the job site was rather small, MPX90’s versatility and efficient mobilization enabled Hylkema to reach higher daily production than planned. The company owner – deep foundations entrepreneur already in 4th generation –  Marco Hylkema, has been very pleased with the new addition to his fleet. Especially the stability of the rig, strong rotary as well as large capacity combined with versatility and ease of mobilization have been above the expectations. This site has already proven that large-sized rig is literally a multipurpose piling rig not only with its many working methods but also with its capability to complete different size of projects.
