High-Performance Ground Improvement at Sawley with the Junttan DR5 Drilling Rig

Aarsleff Ground Engineering is delivering a programme of ground improvement works at Sawley Interchange, where a 645,000 sq ft speculative warehouse is being brought forward for development. The scheme includes the installation of more than 9,000 rigid inclusions, designed to enhance ground performance and support the large‑scale platform required for the new facility.

To carry out the works efficiently and safely, the project team is utilizing a new Junttan DR5 piling rig. Purpose‑built for displacement techniques, the DR5 provides the rotary torque, crowd force and high rotation speeds needed for rapid and consistent installation.
