Tangguh LNG Expansion Project is an expansion of the existing LNG offshore gas production facilities located on the southern shores of Bintuni Bay in Teluk Bintuni Regency of Papua Barat Province. The project is to build LNG process train number 3.
PT. Meindo Elang Indah started the piling project in the beginning of 2018. For this project, Meindo uses 2 x Junttan PM25H pile driving rigs with HHK5/7/9A hammer, and a Junttan HHK5/7/9 hydraulic impact hammer with 15CCU power pack attached to a Kobelco crane with a leader. The piling machine and hammers are being used to pile 400 mm and 600 mm diameter spun piles to a depth of between 15 – 22m. The piles lengths are either 6m or 12m long jointed with 12m piles.
The offshore gas production facilities will be modified, along with the addition of an LNG train as part of the expansion. The project includes the construction of two offshore platforms as well as 13 new production wells, along with an expanded loading facility and associated infrastructure. The production capacity of the LNG plant will increase by approximately 50% to 11.4Mtpa, and the new facilities are scheduled to come on stream in 2020.
